Work done by friction on a conveyor belt
At a factory, a 300-kg crate is dropped vertically from a packing machine onto a conveyor belt (I apologize for not having a picture) moving at a speed of 1.2 m/s. The coefficient of kinetic friction between the belt and the crate is .40. After a short time, slipping between the belt and the crate ceases and the crate then moves along the belt.

Ocean Circulation (conveyor belts)
Description. The ocean is not a still body of water. There is constant motion in the ocean in the form of a global ocean conveyor belt due to thermohaline currents. These currents are density driven, which are affected by both temperature and salinity. Cold, salty water is dense and sinks to the bottom of the ocean while warm water is less ...

- Surcharge angle describes the angle that the surface of the material makes with the horizontal when it is at rest on a moving conveyor belt.

Conveyor belt + Arduino
Building a conveyor belt is straitforward but it takes som experience, Normally it consist of two parallell profiles with a number of rollers between them. One to drive the belt, the rest are idlers. And of course a suitable belt. One option would be to look for a used conveyor with drive.

The Global Conveyor Belt
Currents Tutorial. This animation shows the path of the global conveyer belt. The blue arrows indicate the path of deep, cold, dense water currents. The red arrows indicate the path of warmer, less dense surface waters. It is estimated that it can take 1,000 years for a "parcel" of water to complete the journey along the global conveyor belt.
